As modern political science becomes increasingly specialized, the boundaries between individual fields are also becoming more rigid. Consequently, researchers often have limited opportunities to engage with and apply theories or methodologies from other fields while focusing on their own specializations.

This lab aims to transcend these limitations and cultivate an integrated perspective that encompasses the entire field of political science. Rather than remaining confined to individual research outputs, we seek to collectively explore how political thought, methodology, international politics, comparative politics, and Korean politics can be interconnected.

In particular, by collectively reviewing key theories and debates across these subfields and critically applying them to our own research, we aim to strengthen our analytical capabilities beyond the confines of any single discipline.

Such interdisciplinary exchange will enable researchers to understand political phenomena from a broader perspective and provide a crucial foundation for exploring the shared concerns and theoretical foundations of political science.

현대 정치학은 점점 더 세분화되면서 각 전공 분야 간의 경계 또한 점차 고착화되고 있습니다. 이로 인해 연구자들은 자신의 전공에 집중하는 과정에서 다른 분야의 이론이나 방법론을 접하고 활용할 기회가 제한되는 경우가 많습니다.

본 랩은 이러한 한계를 넘어 정치학 전반을 아우르는 통합적 시각을 기르는 것을 목표로 합니다. 개별 연구 성과에만 머무르기보다 정치사상·방법론·국제정치·비교정치·한국정치가 어떻게 서로 연결될 수 있는지를 함께 탐색하고자 합니다. 특히 각 분과의 주요 이론과 논의를 공동으로 검토하고 이를 자신의 연구에 비판적으로 적용하는 과정을 통해 특정 분야에 국한되지 않는 폭넓은 분석 역량을 강화하고자 합니다.

이와 같은 학제 간 교류는 연구자들이 보다 넓은 시야에서 정치현상을 이해할 수 있도록 하며 정치학의 공통된 문제의식과 이론적 기반을 탐구하는 데 중요한 토대를 제공할 것입니다.
